Winter arrives for Oregon cyclocross
Wow, think the photo probably says it all. Fall has officially turned to winter here in Oregon for the latest round of the uber-popular Cross Crusade. Barton Park hosted Race #6 of the 8 race series once again bringing out over 1000 racers plus fans, family and general cyclocross nar-do-wells.

Hallow-CX'ing at the Cross Crusade
Dubbed the largest cyclocross series in the world, The Cross Crusade is something to behold. 1200+ racers on a weekly basis, plus fans, friends and family all out cheering and partying down Belgium-style. Portland takes its cyclocross racing seriously; Waffles and pommes-frites are sold by the hundreds, Chris King and Co. are out serving up delicious hot coffee while fixing up people bikes and Bob's Red Mill supplies the whole scene with hot oatmeal complete with butter, brown sugar and raisins just like Mom used to make it - incredible. Amazing how fast you go from skinny waist and fat tires during the summer to the opposite when the weather starts cooling down and the leaves dropping.

Can't believe its already time for the NMBS Series finals, but here they are, creeping into the month of September; a great year of mountain bike racing already behind us and talk of cyclocross taking over the front burner.

TransRockies Day 7 - Mission Complete
Here we are, typing our final race report from the luxurious, air-conditioned couches in the Hilton Garden Inn; the 2008 TransRockies Mountain Bike Race already becoming a memory.
